El Tucán by Doni

El Tucán by Doni is a small restaurant in Plaza Via Condotti in Tamarindo that serves traditional Costa Rican food. The menu includes casados (a plate of rice, beans, salad and plantains with meat or fish), chicken and beef dishes, vegetarian plates such as vegetables in coconut sauce, and quesadillas. There are also daily specials.

It is open every day from 11 am to 9:30 pm.

El Tucán is consistently well reviewed. Guests most often praise the fresh, home-style cooking, the fair prices and the friendly service, and several say they came back many times during their stay. One recent guest found a vegetarian quesadilla and a fish dish below expectations.
