Saltee Surf and Golf

Saltee Surf and Golf is a Costa Rican-owned surf school with a booth at Hotel Tamarindo Diria, on the main beach in Tamarindo. The founder and head coach was born and raised in Tamarindo and previously coached at the Four Seasons on the Papagayo Peninsula.

It offers group, semi-private and private surf lessons every day. Lessons start with instruction on land before going into the water. For intermediate and advanced surfers, it runs surf trips to Witch’s Rock and Ollie’s Point, and it also offers lessons on the Papagayo Peninsula. Golf days at the Hacienda Pinilla course are available, with transport included.

The school is consistently well reviewed. Families and first-time surfers praise the patient instructors and clear, simple instruction, and many say they stood up on their first waves. Reviewers who took the Witch’s Rock trip describe it as well organised.
